It's 1-ish in the morning and I really couldn't care less about sleep right now.
A lot of stuff happened during my absence. I grew a little (not vertically, though that would have been great) while I was on a 5-week study trip in China, officially became a year two MCM kiddo and I got the shocking revelation that Pepper's brother will be heading off to Canada (this story's a little complicated. I'll leave it for another day)
So...yeah...
The China Trip
I still can't quite remember what made me say yes to the whole go-overseas-on-a-study-trip-it'll-be-fun idea but whatever. I came back alive. Got to fly Scoot for once with a bunch of wonderful friends and found myself stuck in Tianjin, China for 5 weeks. Beginnings are always the worst. The weather was pretty chilly (this was during the Winter-Spring transition so the climate fluctuated quite a bit) and the entire campus was dull. Oh, forgot to mention. During the trip, lodging as at the Academic Foreign Exchange Student hotel, part of the Tianjin Technological University campus grounds. It was 2 to a decent room, so I got to stay with a lovely roomie. In fact, she was so lovely we had to deal with morning mails from a bunch of her suitors.
It wasn't until the 2-3rd weeks before things became a little more happening. Spring arrived and it was such a magical moment, seeing cherry blossoms bloom all around us and watching how life flows back to the university. Daffodils, irises and other temperate plants were flourishing right in front of us and I LOVED IT. Oh, and yeah, this was my first time experiencing spring in a foreign country. Of course it wasn't all fun and play in Tianjin. Part of the trip consisted on completing two modules, one on feature writing and the other on Chinese studies. Excursions were planned out so we got to explore some sights of Tianjin and OMG THE STREET FOOD!!!!!!!! Damn, I'm drooling already :(
It's funny how I used to complain how long the trip was in the beginning. Now that I'm back, I'm actually hoping to revisit the city again. Aside from the ridiculously cheap cab rides and polluted air, Tianjin is actually pretty modern and there are certain places that I'm dying to go again!
About the whole 'growing up' part...
another post another time :)
I'm in Year Two!!!!
Surprise surprise, this little shorty is now a sophomore in Poly.
I still remember how seniors would come by and tell me to 'enjoy year one'. I used to respond to their advice with either a slight nod or a simple 'ok?'
But damn...it really hits you hard...being a year 2 and all...
It's as if I've just chugged an entire bottle of vodka down my system. It's so overwhelming!
I'm turning 18 this year!
I'm gonna be applicable for a drivers' license in the next semester!
I'm gonna be an intern next year!
THINGS ARE CHANGING AGAIN...AND FASTER THIS TIME!
I really miss 2013 right now... #icouldsighbutwhatdifferencewoulditmake
